The Background

Eyes & Ears is a media business largely employing contractors, some of whom are self-employed, with others on PAYE. With an increasing workload, the Chief Operating Officer was quite literally ‘up to her eyes and ears’ in bookkeeping – not the best use of her time. Additionally, there was $450,000 in outstanding invoices, and payroll was getting too complicated. Project Seven came on board and got up to speed efficiently to get on top of the issues, and once that was done, set up the systems and procedures to keep things moving smoothly.

• Handled accounts payable and receivable and credit control
• Managed payroll and setting Xero up to pay subcontractors

The Background

This is the story of one man and a crew of subcontractors working in a niche industry with small product margins. The owner was trying to do it all, and in the process not doing it well. Spending late nights dedicated to invoicing, not focusing on sales calls or unpaid invoices, and getting stuck in the hamster wheel of ‘last minute’ jobs was hurting this business owner. For 20 hours per month, this business owner improved his outcomes in all areas.
